The posters all say that its soon Mothers day
On the radio tv and all
From deep in my mind there’s some pictures I find
Of the one that I love most of all

Most Mothers I know in most places I go
Think the world of their daughters and sons
My Mum is the same and we’re lucky to gain
Such a wonderful Mother as Mum

She taught me to talk and she taught me to walk
And she taught me to bid time of day
In the dark of the night she was there with the light
And she showed me the way thru the day

As time slipped away it has left shades of grey
That in time will be part of us all
We hope and we pray that on each Mothers day
God’s blessing upon her will fall

A boy and girl anyplace in the world
Even poor could be born in a slum
Would be rich if they share all the love and the care
As the love that has come from my Mum

She taught me to say the Lord’s prayer every day
Those pictures from me will not part
Of the very first time that I learned to pray
Cause she placed them so deep in my heart
